The New Wave is a makeup of plastic bottles, configured into a wave to represent the pollution in our oceans. This is a plea for help as our sea-life is in danger due to harmful plastic and styrofoam that fills our waters. The New Wave Art makes an impact that transcends speeches, videos, and letters by wordlessly conveying a message on a universal scale, with unrestricted energy and emotion.

Made of reclaimed materials, I was able to regenerate waste into artwork. Plastic bottles, sea-glass, plastic bags, cans, styrofoam, and straws are the least of what I found beneath the depths of our earth’s most critical biospheres. Thus, the message behind my gigantic ocean that is filled with plastic bottles and layered with caps, is to influence my viewer to recycle. The only way for people to understand that trash is killing marine life is to show them because sometimes our actions leave an invisible footprint behind on our environment.
