Society visualized the legs of tables as female limbs in the late 1800s. Hence,
woven tablecloths draped over the legs to hide all female-like parts from the
public. In stark contrast to table legs in the Victorian Era: “Female Coffee Table,” is indicative of the modern day woman. I chose to cover my table with a sheet of yellow plexiglass to represent the
International Woman Suffrage Alliance, while green plexiglass serves as an emblem of internal hope. Yielding a shadow in front of the table in the color blue, thus our responsibility to fight for gender neutrality.
